English Heritage Launch Women's History Website

To mark International Women’s day, English Heritage is dedicating a new part of its website to women’s history. Women's contribution to social, political and architectural history has in previous centuries, often gone unrecorded. However, women's achievements and experience have left a deep impression on the historic environment. Once revealed, this can help to fill in the gaps left by previous generations' recording of history.

EH hope to expand this first nucleus of a web page to gradually create a useful resource about women, heritage and the historic environment, for all those researching women's history. They invite you to visit the site at www.english-heritage.org.uk/womenshistory , and let them know of, or even contribute information about, the topics that most interest you.
