Women in Heritage is an initiative that has come about following observations regarding the lack of cohesion between the different sectors of the heritage industry, the need for a structure whereby the wisdom and experience of women at the top is passed on, and the desire for a system of networking that encourages women into heritage and throughout their careers, giving them a bedrock of support for whatever they want to do.

Women in Heritage offers a network for those who currently work in, wish to work in or have regular contact with:

Built heritage
Museums
Archaeology
Libraries and Archives
Cultural heritage
Heritage planning and policy
Heritage trades and skills
Third sector heritage groups

We are a non-discriminatory group, and believe that we can work equally with men or woman in all aspects of our approach. We aim to be as flexible as possible, and understand that some of our projects may be valuable to men working within the industry, and also benefit from male contribution.
