What We Do!
Education
The education and training of those working, or intending to explore roles in heritage, is of primary importance to the sector as a whole. Skills and knowledge can also be a tool for empowerment of women within the workplace, and enable women to reach their targets effectively.
Women in Heritage will develop a programme of talks and workshops to offer to schools and higher education establishments, celebrating the role of women in heritage, and clarifying the opportunities available within the sector. This will be achieved in partnership with other organisations where desirable.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a concern to those working in a heritage role, and to their employers. Some employees, particularly within small third sector organisations, have little access to CPD. Women in Heritage intend to formulate a series of affordable CPD events in partnership with existing CPD providers, focused especially on the needs of women in the workplace, and also highlighting areas where there are few women working to open the way for more women to take the opportunities that are available.
